Roses
By: Vanya Rhodes Roses are a very special type of flower! They can bring love, happiness, and sunshine into a person's life. You can look at them as a symbol of life. I mean that one part can be soft and comfortable; while the other part can be rough and bumpy. Look at the flower this way; the petals of the rose are colorful, soft, safe to the touch, and comfortable. That is just like our lives most of the time. The thorns of this beautiful flower are rough, prickly, and can hurt our bodies. That is what happens in our lives when the road of life gets a little bumpy

This wonderful beautiful flower comes in many colors. It seems that a bouquet of different color roses can bring a rainbow into your home and life. This special flower not only attracts human beings, but also many types of animals and insects. It also brings color and life to every place it encounters. To me it symbolizes warmth, sweetness, caring, and hope. The fragrance is so sweet that it remains me of fresh morning dew. It also reminds me of how cool and wonderful that nature can be!

Most of the colors this wonderful unique flower have special meanings. The white rose means purity just like a new born child. A red rose means love that should be in every man, woman, and child's heart. A pink rose means passion, just not in romance, but also for life itself! The yellow rose has two meanings. The first one means friendship and the other meaning is sympathy. The blue rose means peace. I truly believe that this rose should be everywhere in the world. Because this world should be in peace and harmony! The purple rose means loyalty like to one's family and friends. Of course the black rose means death. I'm sure that the other colors of the rose have their meanings as well; however, I don't know what they are. I think that the yellow rose should also stand for brotherhood and sisterhood!

It's like that old saying, ""Wake up and smell the roses!" If nature can get along with each other, why can't we? Maybe sending someone a single rose a day, then probably this world will be a better place to live!
